Get ready for an epic showdown at Lakeside 2025! The reigning champion, Shane McGuirk, is set to ignite the stage on opening night, facing Finland's Petri Rasmus in a highly anticipated title defense. But here's where it gets controversial: McGuirk isn't the only one with something to prove. Seven male debutants, including Alex Williams and Romeo Grbavac, will step into the spotlight, showcasing their skills and aiming to make a memorable first impression.

The 2025 WDF World Championship promises 10 days of darting drama, with a total of 85 players battling it out across 15 sessions. From the Girls' and Youth competitions to the Women's and Open tournaments, this year's event is shaping up to be a thrilling spectacle.

On Friday night, the Women's tournament kicks off with Mayumi Ouchi taking on Nina Lech-Musialska. And get this: two-time World Champion Mikuru Suzuki, a fan favorite, will make her Lakeside return on Saturday evening, facing Finland's Kirsi Viinikainen. Talk about a mouth-watering matchup!

As for the Open tournament, James Beeton will be the first seed to enter the fray on Saturday afternoon, while top seed Jimmy van Schie will face a tough challenge against either Alex Williams or Romeo Grbavac. Former WDF No.1 Brian Raman will also be in action, going head-to-head with Dutch Open winner Jeffrey Sparidaans.

Sunday brings more excitement with Marko Kantele returning to Lakeside after 20 years, taking on Dalibor Smolik. And get ready for history in the making as Mitchell Lawrie becomes the youngest player to compete in a senior World Championship, facing Japan's Tomoya Maruyama.

Monday night will showcase the top seed in the women's tournament, Lerena Rietbergen, along with four seeds in the Open, including 2022 World Champion Neil Duff and the returning Australian Raymond Smith.

On Tuesday, the newly crowned Women's World Master, Lorraine Hyde, will step into the ring, facing either Paula Murphy or Emine Dursun. The Last 16 in the Women's competition will wrap up across Wednesday and Thursday, featuring some of the sport's biggest names, including Deta Hedman and Aileen de Graaf.

Thursday marks the start of the Youth tournament, with Mitchell Lawrie leading the charge against Adam Sepsi. All the Quarter-Finals in the Open and Women's tournaments will take place on Friday, December 5th, alongside the last two Youth last eight ties, which will include the defending champion, Archie Self.

Saturday, December 6th, is Semi-Final Saturday for all four tournaments, with Paige Pauling aiming to begin her title defense against Turkish debutant Zehra Gemi. And finally, on Sunday, we'll crown our four 2025 World Champions live on S4C.

So, who will emerge victorious? Will the reigning champions retain their titles, or will new stars rise to the occasion? Only time will tell. Don't miss a moment of this thrilling tournament!
